Kandy Kings is a multi-sport franchise representing the city of Kandy, competing across four sports: golf, tennis, pickleball, and rowing.

The franchise made its debut in late 2025, launching first in golf as one of the founding franchises of Sri Lanka's inaugural franchise-format golf league. From there, the Kandy Kings identity expanded quickly, with the ownership group entering tennis and rowing as franchise formats took shape in each sport through 2026 — and now extending into pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the country and among the newest additions to Sri Lanka's franchise sport landscape.

Rather than build around a single game, Kandy Kings has taken a broader approach from the outset — fielding a competitive team in each sport it enters, and pairing that with a single identity that runs across all of them. Depending on the sport, this means partnering directly with the relevant national governing body, or entering through independently organised franchise leagues as they emerge. Kandy Kings sits among a small but growing group of ownership groups betting on that model working across multiple sports.

Kandy Kings exists to grow franchise sport in Sri Lanka — supporting the athletes, leagues, and governing bodies driving that growth — and to build one recognisable Kandy Kings identity across every sport the franchise competes in. The aim is simple: connect the city of Kandy with its athletes, and connect those athletes with a wider sporting audience, whatever the game.

Kandy Kings is owned by Michael Sathasivam, Rajitha Siriwardena, Sid Hirdaramani, Nirthaj Seelanatha, and Dihan Dedigama, whose backing spans all four sports the franchise competes in.
